Celtic Fiddle Sensation, Eileen Ivers, Takes the Stage at Caltech

Caltech Live! is pleased to present “the Hendrix of the violin,” as described by The New York Times. Eileen Ivers and Universal Roots have thrilled audiences the world over with their Inspirational music rooted in Celtic tradition. Just in time for St. Patricks Day, they will bring the, unique sound to Beckman Auditorium on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

Ivers is a Grammy-Award winning violinist who has guest-starred with over 50 orchestras including the Boston Pops and London Symphony. She has also Performed with many renowned artists and productions including Riverdance, Sting and Patti Smith, and was a founding member of Cherish the Ladies.

Eileen’s energetic new band Universal Roots, connects music, cultures, stories, and emotions that tie us together. The ensemble, with a broad array of instrumentation, features Matt Mancuso (Lead vocals, guitar, trumpet, fiddle), Buddy Connolly (button, accordion, whistles, piano, vocals), Lindsey Horner (upright and electric bass, baritone, sax, vocals), and Dave Barckow (lead vocals, percussion, guitar), together with Eileen on fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bodhran, and live looping.
